Fees

My introductory rate is $US 24.00 for the first hour of my work with you. I respond fully to what you have written. If appropriate I will suggest how you can continue - there is no obligation to do so. An introductory session can be helpful in its own right, and may involve several emails and a closure. The purpose of the reduced rate to assist you in making the first step into an online relationship.

The rate for further work is $US 72.00 per hour for time I spend reading your writing and responding to you.

Further work may consist of several more emails to complete something from the first hour of my work with you or it may be regular psychotherapy. The exact frequency and duration of this work is hard to predict, but those matters will be discussed as we proceed.

You may be wondering why my introductory fee is so low, and why my regular fee is way below what it might be where you to see a reputable psychotherapist where you live. Is this therapist really up to it?

There are several reasons why I work comfortably with these fees:

1) I have an introductory fee when I work online, I don't do that when I work face-to-face. The reason is that you can see my building and office in Christchurch were you to come and see me in person. You could talk to other clients and my colleagues. It is easier to trust. That first introductory hour is to over come that barrier of working in cyberspace.

2) Time is more flexible. I get back the you usually the same day (my time). But that leaves me with way more flexibility than if I need to be in my office. I often work from my holiday batch in the hills. You also have that flexibility when you work online, you can travel, or do your therapy at night.

3) I work at my usual New Zealand rate. The international differences may make this a highly economical option for you. (Not always of course, it depends on where you live.)

The introductory hour is a solid start, that will have immediate impact.

I am confident that at the end of that hour you will:
